The impressive Boucheron and Mark Newson Julia necklace created in 2008 set new boundaries in making jewelry. Requiring more than fifteen hundred hours of manual work, the Julia necklace is a work of art crafted of white gold, sparkling diamonds and hallucinating sapphires.
This masterpiece is a mélange of fine artistry, veritable craftsmanship and mathematics. In fact, the Julia necklace is a representation of Julia fractals. This mathematical theory says that fractals are rough geometrical shapes that can be endlessly divided and subdivided in other units identical to them.
Even if it looks heavy, this necklace weights only 260 grams, featuring diamonds from 0.84 to 2.50 carats. There is a high level of complication, as there are stones measuring 1.7 mm in diameter.
